An Eco-friendly morning routing with the Suri Toothbrush.

A new toothbrush is making waves.

Co-founders Gyve Safavi and Mark Rushmore founded Suri (short for Sustainable Rituals) in 2021 and have made it their mission to create a product that is the ‘world’s first electric toothbrush made out of sustainable and biodegradable materials.’

Eco-friendly and sustainable, Suri has made it’s mission to reduce the environmental impact other electric toothbrushes have. According to Suri, over 4 billion toothbrushes end up in landfill or in the ocean; enough to circle the world 12 times, a truly shocking statistic.

A certified B-corporation, Suri has stripped their product back, transforming design by implementing a sleek style with carefully selected materials. Instead of plastic, the brush heads are made from plant-based corn starch and the bristles are made from castor oil. By not using petroleum based plastics and an aluminium body, the parts of the toothbrush can be widely recycled rather than thrown in the bin.

Sustainability is at the core of the Suri organisation; you can read their sustainability report for 2023 here. It goes to sure that this is not just a gimmick, making one step of your morning routine more mindful of the environment.

Whilst a lot of focus has gone into the sleek design of the product, it hasn’t compromised on it’s ability to deliver a deep clean.

Taking social media by storm, it seems that Suri, is making new (sonic) waves. Hopefully this will lead to more innovative change allowing us all to make small sustainable changes that will add up to slowly change the health of the planet.

Available in 5 colourways, products are priced at £75.00. Additionally, you can also purchase a UV travel case to keep your toothbrush clean and hygienic when on your travels or to keep clean at home, whilst charging it up.
